Qui non c’è molto da dire, l’ho detto e l’ho fatto. Non mi riesce quasi mai, ma stavolta si !

Sono stato a fare la sessione della luna di settembre nella mia stazione di Monsampietro. Il tempo è stato buono variabile, alternando umidità al vento teso da nord, nuvoloni a cieli sereni, specie di notte.

Insomma, tra ore rubate alle nuvole e notti serene ho fatto tre oggetti, tra i quali questo dettaglio della Pelican, proprio come avevo minacciato nel post precedente, quando avevo presentato il gruppo NordAmerica-Pellicano.

Questo quadro particolare sta proprio alla base del collo reclinato del pellicano, sulla cresta luminosa, spartiacque di due ripide pareti di idrogeno, dove sono andato a cercare incuriosito proprio da quella luce.

E l’ho scelta perché affascinato da quella materia in espansione, quei getti di gas e polveri, verosimilmente culle di stelle nascenti, eruttate dalle enormi bolle rese incandescenti da chissà quante e quali giovani stelle.

Come anche le scure nuvole di carbone che scivolano lungo i fianchi di quella parete, sospinte dal vento stellare delle potentissime radiazioni ultraviolette. E quel pistillo, come di un fiore di fuoco, a testimoniare che la natura è intimamente frattale e per creare usa sempre gli stessi meccanismi, le stesse geometrie, apparentemente casuali.

L’ho fatta in due notti non consecutive, il colore all’inizio, quando il Cigno era alto, poi l’Ha fino a dopo le 4, perché il mio cielo ovest è scuro, non ci sono luci, né prima, né dietro il profilo dei magici Sibillini. Ma c’era acqua nell’aria quelle notti e anche forse la sabbia dell’alta pressione africana.  Fatto sta che le pose Ha valevano poco e non hanno dato un buon contributo. O forse hanno disturbato i toni del colore, forse la luce del PC entrava dalla ruota porta filtri. Tant’è, ma non è male dopotutto e rende l’idea del fuoco che illumina le nebulose.

Chissà, comunque, alla prossima luna il Cigno è ancora altino e qualche posa interferenziale in prima serata potrebbe migliorare il quadro. Chissà !!

My Notes

There isn’t much to tell this time, what I planned, that I did. It quite rarely happens to me, but this time I did !

I have been to my station in Monsanpietro for the September new moon. The weather was variable, humid air following fresh northern winds, from cloudy to clear skies, most in the nights, thankfully.

So, during extemporary hours and clear nights I made three objects, among which the detail I’m posting now of the Pelican nebula, just what I said I was seeking for when I presented the North American-Pelican group in my previous post.

This particular picture just underlies the bent neck of the Pelican, on the bright crest, the divide of two steep hydrogen walls, where I went hunting intrigued just by that light. That I choose, captivated by that exploding matter, those springs of gases and dust, likely the cradles of new stars, ejected by the giant bubbles excited by who knows which and how many young stars.

As well as the dark coal clouds sliding down those faces, driven by the stellar wind generated by the powerful ultraviolet radiation. And that pistil, like a fire flower, witnessing how nature follows indeed a kind of fractal model for creation, with always the same mechanisms, the same geometries, only apparently casual.

I made it during two consecutive nights, the colour shots first when the Cygnus was still well up, then the Ha line, till four o’clock and over, since my western sky is dark, no lights are before and behind the magic Sybil mountains. But there was too much water in the air, plus maybe the sand brought from Africa by the high pressure, so the Ha contribute resulting weak, even dirty. Perhaps the colour features was polluted, may be even my PC screen light entering though the filter wheel. But that the result is, not so bad, rendering enough the fire lighting the nebula.
Who knows, however, at the next new moon the Cygnus will be still high in the early night for some interferential shots to allow improvements. May be !!
