Voglio tornare sulla nebulosa Laguna, oggetto estremamente interessante per gli astrofisici perché sede di fenomeni astronomici, come ammassi aperti (NGC6530), regioni di formazione stellare, nebulose oscure, stelle giovani, gas caldi e soprattutto diversi globuli di Bok, nubi di materiale protostellare collassato, verosimilmente candidato a divenire il bozzolo di una stella nascente. La nebulosa contiene inoltre una struttura nota come "Nebulosa Clessidra", omonima della nebulosa planetaria nella costellazione della Mosca, e famosa per la scoperta al suo interno dei primi quattro oggetti di Herbig-Haro, ciò che prova la natura di fucina stellare della regione.

Ma non è per questo che mi piace e che ne ripropongo il dettaglio della zona centrale, io la Clessidra non riesco a vederla, figuriamoci, non riconosco neanche la zona di forma ‘lagunare’ che ne ispira il nome, la striscia scura che ne traversa la parte centrale, secondo chi l’ha così battezzata.

Semplicemente mi piace molto, il suo centro luminoso in particolare che mi ricorda una giostra infuocata dove girano e ballano le forme più strane, mi ispira positivo quel bagliore accecante che emerge dal buio con tutta la materia intorno che esulta e esalta il suo stesso esistere.

E poi mi ricorda l’estate, quella quando l’ho fatta in particolare, a Fonte Vetica, dopo un pagliaio di fettuccine al rifugio di Fausto, in una notte breve e divertente insieme a Stefano che era lì solo a farmi compagnia.

Provavamo l’Intes, ma prima il sindaco di Vattelapesca coi suoi fuochi paesani, poi un vento teso c’hanno lasciato fare solo quattro pose da 10 minuti. Che però hanno esaltato la qualità di questo gioiello con le stelle perfette e fatto quello che vedete, niente male per una notte apparentemente sprecata, in preda a una crisi di risate mal soffocate, sull’ISS e i suoi bulloni, con un gruppo di parrocchiani che russavano ignari nelle tende a pochi passi da noi.

Sembra un fiore, un fuoco di vita e di amore.

Perciò la dedico a mia madre che moriva proprio in queste ore, cinque anni fa.

My Notes

I like to go back into the Lagoon nebula, an extremely appealing object for the astronomers, with its open clusters (NGC6530), star forming regions, dark nebulae, young stars and burning gases and, above all, several Bok globules, collapsed protostellar matter clouds, likely to turn into a nursery of rising stars.

The Lagoon also contains an object known as Hourglass nebula, not be confused with the better known nebula in the constellation Fly, but famous for containing the first four discovered Herbig-Haro objects, another proof of its star nursery nature.

But that’s not the reason why I’m posting now its central area detail, I can’t see any Hourglass anywhere, not even recognise the lagoon shape, ‘the dark lane crossing the central area’ according to who named the nebula.

I simply like M8 very much, I love its bright core in particular, which reminds to me a fire carousel around which  various shapes are dancing, that powerful light rising from the dark surrounded by matter in a triumphing merry-go-round suggests positive emotions to me.

Moreover, it reminds to me the summertime, the one when I take the picture in particular, at the Fonte Vetica refuge, after a big fettuccine course by Fausto, during a funny short night together with Stefano who was there just to assist me. We were testing the Intes reflector, but the Idontknowwhere pinwheels first and the wind later allowed only four 10 minutes exposures, that however show what that beautiful optic can do with its perfect stars and did what you can see !

Not so bad indeed for a crazy night spent trying to keep from laughing about the ISS bolts, with a group of young parishioners sleeping unaware just close to us.

It looks like a flower, a blossom of life and love.

That’s why I dedicate to my mother, who passed away just in these hours, five years ago.
