La celebre nebula in Sagittario è stata la prima preda d'estate, all'inizio di Luglio dalla mia postazione fissa sopra Ascoli Piceno e voglio che sia l’esordio del mio blog.

Una delle prime uscite con la neonata Linear della Avalon, fermamente voluta, progettata e realizzata da Luciano Dal Sasso, mio amico e sodale di tante serate. Al suo esordio si è comportata egregiamente, neanche un mosso, solo qualche iniziale guizzo in DEC che la guida neanche ha visto, figuriamoci la posa !

Guida con Guidemaster tramite il vecchio ma fido DA2, anche se la ST4 ha fatto qualche capriccio. Ma di notti senza impicci, ne ricordo davvero poche e mi sa pure che mi sono un po' annoiato !

L'ho ripresa in tre notti, sembrano tante ma il Sagittario, si sa, fa poco più che capoccella e ho dovuto anche aspettare che uscisse dalle luci di Ascoli. Poi qualche nuvoletta quà e là e l'oggetto scadeva a SW dietro a un dispettoso camino.

Mi piace così M20, come viene, senza forzature di intensità e colore. So che si può fare meglio, la prossima estate spero di farlo, con più lunghe esposizioni coi filtri interferenziali e magari entrandoci dentro con i 3 metri del vecchio ZEN, specchio di razza che tengo troppo a riposo. Oppure immersa e sommersa dalle nubi caustiche del centro della galassia col metro di focale del TEC 140 che, ne faccio pubblica ammenda, dorme da anni sotto al mio letto.

My comments

The well-known nebula in Sagittarius was my first target this summer, at early July, from my site just above Ascoli Piceno. That’s why I choose it as the debut of my blog.

One of the first sessions with the newborn Linear of Avalon, firmly wanted, designed and manufactured by Luciano Dal Sasso, the fellow of so many starry nights.

It behaved smartly, no blurred shots, just few ininfluent peaks in DEC, at the start, leaving no traces in the pictures.

Satisfactory the guide by Guidemaster, as well, with few problems on ST4 communication port.

But I do not remember many sessions without troubles, when, however, I guess I was boring a bit !

I made M20 during three nights, seem quite several indeed but the Sagittarius rises just the head as known. More, the Ascoly lights, some travelling clouds together with a naughty chimneypot reduced markedly the already short summernight time.

I like the Trifida as it comes out, without forcing either the luminance or the colours.

Next summer, may be, I’ll do better either using only interferential filters or by penetrating the nebula with the 3 metres of my prestigious ZEN or embedded on star clouds with my TEC 140, that, shame on me, sleeps under my bed since too long !
